The making of a carpet

I am in need of a soft carpet
for a flawless landing.

I've been keeping tabs
on the  carpet-making process,
which began in earnest,
long ago.

Step by step,

I  see it coming up,

the creation of the green patchwork,

the intertwoven shapes,

             
the appearance of
an attractive layout,
looking as if designed
just for me.
