Summer and makeup

The sun has been up and about. There's work to be done... a waiting list of customers. The day begins... Adding a soft glow to the flowers. Making the dull looking leaves shine. A makeover for the  soil.  Using the highlighter to grab eyeballs. Adding shape to fallen leaves Ensuring  heads turn with that specialist touch. Sharpening the shadows. Brushing fresh buds with golden tints. Giving that unusual look. Going contemporary. Bringing on the smiles.

Bright, sunny April, calling  to little hands swinging the baskets. Hot, dusty mornings. Dusk unwraps cool surprises. Lurking sea breeze plays.

World Book Day returns

A book lover's point of view: There is a certain thrill... in holding a book, in eagerly waiting for that moment when I can relax and begin an interesting journey, filled with twists and turns, something new or inspiring, in feeling a thrill when turning the pages, in savouring the smell of a book...age old or brand new, in admiring the cover and peeking into the last page, in searching for pictures, if any, in laughing aloud at the humourous parts, in wondering what lies in the next page, in skipping chapters and reading and re-reading interesting bits, in dozing off with a book, cruising into a dreamy world, in using a little one's handmade bookmark as a reminder, in sharing what I felt, in safeguarding it with a wrap, a cover, in tucking it away into a safe nook, with a smile... as I keep recalling the secret hidden between the pages, a secret reminding me of... lush red blossoms swaying merrily, making the butter

Earth Day musings

It took many hours, days, weeks, months and maybe years... Plans were made, altered, re-altered and finalised. The result was astonishing. The colours were many. There were shades of brown, grey, black, green, yellow and a mix of other bright hues too... Variety was introduced, so that, the interest would not wane. The visitors were many. So too were the noises. Words flew back and forth. At last a 'name' was decided upon. An easy to pronounce name, for both the young and the old. Everyone okayed it. T'was easy on the tongue plus enticed the senses. The older generation could recall pages... of fond memories of overcoming barriers and  endless struggles, plus, of course,  the hair raising tales. The Creator smiled at the 'Trees' standing tall, just below. The word 'tree' sounded  apt, bringing to mind a heavenly presence, as they loomed up, high above, carrying notes from the Earth below, whispering a messa
