World Book Day returns

A book lover's point of view:

There is a certain thrill...

in holding a book,

in eagerly waiting for that moment
when I can relax and
begin an interesting journey,
filled with twists and turns,
something new or inspiring,

in feeling a thrill
when turning the pages,

in savouring the smell
of a book...age old or brand new,

in admiring the cover
and peeking into the last page,

in searching for pictures, if any,

in laughing aloud
at the humourous parts,

in wondering what lies
in the next page,

in skipping chapters and
reading and re-reading
interesting bits,

in dozing off with a book,
cruising into a dreamy world,

in using a little one's
handmade bookmark
as a reminder,

in sharing what I felt,

in safeguarding it
with a wrap, a cover,

in tucking it away into a safe nook,
with a smile...

as I keep recalling the secret
hidden between the pages,

a secret reminding me of...

lush red blossoms
swaying merrily,

making the butterflies
flutter their wings non-stop,

while they land on
soft, red, wispy rugs
laid out specially for their
dainty feet.
